A Wellbeing that Works

Join us in person Thursday, December 8th for an energizing evening featuring a panel of inspiring innovators/wellbeing enthusiasts who will share wisdom and practical tools on how to (imperfectly) avoid burnout and overwhelm so that you can have maximum impact in your work.

Join Lokaal’s community of impact-driven creatives, freelancers and entrepreneurs for networking and an energizing panel talk and Q&A moderated by The Momentum Coach & Journalist Natalie Ruskin on this theme:

Mindset & tools to thrive: how to prioritize your wellbeing in practical terms

(aka: A Wellbeing that Works)

WHAT TO EXPECT? At the heart of this evening will be a no-BS panel convo with successful self-starters (aka get-sh*t-doners) on how they prioritize their wellness so that they can have bandwidth, focus and inspiration to create high-impact work.

Panelists will share inspiring anecdotes, tips and tools for:

  • How to optimize time/energy management

  • How to stay committed to wellbeing goals when life throws curve balls

  • How to navigate the Holiday Trifecta - Family, Food and FOMO - with ease and flow

Moderated by coach, mindfulness teacher and journalist Natalie Ruskin who will guide us through practices to close the “thinking-doing” gap on our wellbeing/growth desires.

WHY? Because...

  • we want to feel like well-running stealth machines of productivity and purpose and we believe (sic. hope) that there’s gotta be a more sustainable and satisfying way to do this

  • we want to know the secrets of their success…those fit and glowy looking people who seem to get sH*T done and yet are in bed by 10pm and still having fun in their lives (really, does this exist?)

  • we are willing and ready to make sacrifices but would like some short cuts (c’mon, who doesn’t) on which sacrifices are worth making

About the Panelists:

Amy Louis Bayliss, ER Physician

Amy Louis Bayliss is a Physician, fitness devotee and family travel enthusiast on a journey to integrate years of rigorous training and front-line healthcare work with the mind-body-spirit lifestyle changes she’s personally experienced through motherhood and beyond.

Mid-pandemic, Amy courageously chose a lifestyle change she would never have foreseen back in her fast-track, high-achieving med-school days. Amy chose to put wellbeing (hers and her family’s) ahead of her job.

Today, Amy is expanding her success vision as health practitioner: to support women’s health through a more integrative model of thriving, not just surviving. As part of this vision, Amy consciously (and imperfectly) shows up every day with the desire to thrive in all areas of her life - with family, friends and, most importantly, with herself.

Sabrina Virdee, Holistic Nutritionist & Founder of "All is Well Handcrafted Herbal Tea"

Sabrina is a Holistic Nutritionist, Certified & Personal Trainer and founder of Hello All is Well lifestyle wellness brand which includes a beautiful line of handcrafted herbal tea. A marathoner enthusiast, wellness baker (with a not-so-secret donut love affair) and sleep worshiper, Sabrina sees wellness not as a destination but instead as an ever evolving journey.

This mom of two grade-schoolers is on a journey of redefining her own success - beyond the meticulous, box-ticking and to-do list trap so many of us find OURSELVES in - towards a more fundamental and joyful version of fulfillment which will always include some combo of sleep, water, nourishment and movement.

Natalie Ruskin (Moderator)

Natalie is a coach who empowers purpose-driven women to move beyond impostor-syndrome and into their highest version of success – so that they can experience the deep fulfillment they most desire in work, wellness and relationships. In the ten years prior to becoming a coach, Natalie worked as an overachieving producer inside the CBC, trailblazing some notable high-impact change projects and also nearly trailblazing herself into burnout.

Today - as a certified coach, mindfulness teacher and positive intelligence enthusiast - Natalie imperfectly practices what she preaches to help other reformed overachievers find their most satisfying and sustainable version of success.

When not coaching clients, you can find Natalie in Lokaal at her window seat - writing, reading or staring out at the horizon with awe and gratitude for where she is today.
